Yes, I used FTW in a title and it's not old-fashioned. It's actually back again. Like bossa nova.
I'm getting close to releasing a first version of Validibot, and I've decided to use an open core model for the project.
I'll be releasing most of the project as a 'community' version under the AGPL license, so you're free to modify it as you wish, within the bounds of the license. If you're not keen on the AGPL's restrictions, I'll be offering a Pro version as well under a commercial license (includes some extra commercial features as well ) for a reasonable yearly fee.
This follows the trail blazed by projects like Sidekiq, providing a way for solo (me!) developers to deliver value to the community while at the same time earning a yield. "Obtain a yield," say those wise permaculture peeps.
So that's my plan. Very very excited to get this thing out and generating some potential interest and feedback. Stay tuned.
